Meet Our Founder
Elle Jimenez
Elle's love for nature began in childhood, growing up on the island of Puerto Rico, surrounded by lush jungle and endless water. That connection to nature eventually led her to holistic wellness, to learning how to live wholistically, and this is where her journey truly began.
Her love for movement led her to yoga. She found the practice in 2012, and by 2020, become a 200-hour registered yoga teacher weaving mindful movement into daily life and sharing her practice with her community.
Because of her holistic approach, Elle also began making her own hair and skin products at home, formulating for herself first, out of a desire to know exactly what she was putting on her body. She was top of her class at the Universal Spa Training Academy for Aesthetics, training that deepened her understanding of skin, ingredients, and formulation.That practice grew into MERVANA's apothecary, where she now creates botanical hair and skin products, ingredient by ingredient, with real intention behind each one.
Her connection to nature carried her toward nutrition next. In 2025, a growing curiosity about the relationship between food and whole-body health led her to become certified in Plant-Based Nutrition through the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at Cornell University. That certification reshaped how she cooked, how she shopped, and how she came to understand food as an act of care, a foundation that would go on to shape everything MERVANA has become.
This care took new form through food safety training, ando offering catering and private chef experiences, bringing whole-food, plant-based meals to events and the community, each dish crafted from real, whole ingredients, with the same attention she would bring to her own family's table.
The jungle, the ocean, movement, food, self-care, each finds its origin in the same place: a lifelong connection to nature that has shaped Elle since childhood. This is how MERVANA was born.
MER, inspired by the sea, and VANA, echoing nirvana and rooted in ancient words for lush, sacred natural spaces, a symbol of peace, refuge, and paradise that one finds when living a beautiful and healthy life. MERVANA reflects Elle's enduring love of land and sea, and the reverence for nature woven into everything we create, inviting others to seek and discover their own MERVANA.
A portion of every MERVANA purchase is donated to Saving the Seas, the 501(c)(3) ocean conservation foundation Elle founded and promotes as Mermaid Elle® to protect the same nature she loves and that inspired MERVANA's name.
